The Georgia Wildlife Journey Program visited Nesbit Elementary School as part of the SCANA Energy Homework Center. SCANA Energy is a partner of the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation. The visit was a special year-end treat provided by SCANA Energy to reward students for hard work throughout the year.

The Chattahoochee Nature Center teaches Georgia children the joys of wildlife by providing one-hour educational programs focusing on animals that make their home in the Georgia piedmont. http://www.chattnaturecenter.org/

SCANA Energy Homework Centers provide a safe, structured study environment where students can complete class assignments and learn proper study skills. Certified teachers are available to help them improve study habits or just get through tricky math problems. As a proud partner in education with Georgia schools, SCANA Energy provides funds for two certified teachers, supplies, snacks and student incentives that are needed in order for our Homework Centers to operate successfully.

And their school will be awarded a $50,000 technology grant.
